Usually, <em>increasing<\/em>\u00a0the information available to <strong>buyers<\/strong> reduces information asymmetry (\u2018lemons\u2019) problems. But <em>decreasing<\/em> the information of potential <strong>sellers <\/strong>also reduces information asymmetries.<\/p>\n<p>I argue that in finance, rules\u00a0 to decrease seller information has sustained anonymous markets that lemons problems would not otherwise allow to exist.
